"Once upon a time… A collection of thirty dolls was born in the month of October at the rate of one per day!

It was a difficult month filled with sad news! How was I to alleviate this heavy load. Could this experience spontaneously translate into an artistic creation? Would a painful experience become the fertile soil for a work of art, even a source of joy? Yes, it seems so!

This is the story of my dolls. The desire to chase away anxiety and find my way back to the light. Grafted into the pleasure of haute couture…this is what I call a HAPPENING!

Tulles, ribbons, pearls, sequins, etc…retrieved from the bottom of my cabinets came to the rescue of my imagination and turned the greyness into fireworks! In a frenzy almost uncontrollable, my fingers were busy with little thought, except for my purpose, which was to create elegance and harmony. Each day, different colours followed one another, giving birth to a new princess.

On October 31st, thirty dolls – elegant, bejeweled, adorned, each with its own name, particular colour and unique style– formed a happy rainbow to taunt my dark thoughts with an explosion of colours and glitter! … Goodbye sadness!"

Arlette had just lived through the grace of creative intuition– a wonderful experience of what is now called Art Therapy!
